Not even 1 month after I wrote the following:

I believe that files should be kept in a filesystem (that's why they call it a file system right??) and data that is sorted or searched or catagorized or to be made searchable should all be put into a database. That's why they call it a database right? And I also believe that photos and images should be kept in a photo gallery, that's why they call it a gallery right?
I believe that most of the unix people keep preaching unixy methods but keep violating it!
A blog should do ONE THING; let you write and store and catalog stuff. It shouldn't store your photos.
A photo gallery should do ONE THING, it should store your photos.
I believe that unless you are flickr, most databases regardless how "lite" they are are more than enough. In fact, my outlook is like this; everything web related that is not really of "commercial size" should use sqlite instead of mysql. Mysql is a POS. It's YOURSQL not mine. I believe that sqlite will do just as much but has easier backup and restore.. you just copy the file!!
I have a lot more gripes about permalinks.. but I will save that for a War&Peace sized entry..

I've switched over to a database based blog. How horrible, I know, but the thing was just SLOW!! How can static pages be so slow?? I will have to spend some time thinking about this, and design a new blog. But for now, I guess it's F2Blog for me..
